Adding oil to 6HP26 / 6HP28 automatic transmission
- general - up to overflow at 40°C

Place car horizontally on hoist
Switch off the hoist and apply the
handbrake
Place car horizontally on hoist
Switch off the hoist and apply the
handbrake
- Car must stand level on the

hoist.
- The driven wheels or the
_
transmission output must be at
_
a standstill for at least two
_
minutes before checking the
_
oil level.
Apply the handbrake.
- Move selector lever to P.
- EGS must not be in
_
emergency program.
- Switch the main consumers,
_
for instance the air
_
conditioning, either on or off
_
according to the car
_
manufacturer's instructions.
Connect the tester in order to
read off the transmission oil
temperature and engine speed
Carry out the repair work
Start the engine
Connect the tester in order to
read off the transmission oil
temperature and engine speed
Select gears with engine running,
at idle speed
With the engine stopped, add oil
until it reaches the overflow lip
Select positions R and D and
shift through as far as 3rd gear
(manual/winter program)
Start the engine
Top off the oil immediately to the
overflow lip
Keep each gear selected for 3
seconds, then engage the
parking lock
Select gears with engine
running, at idle speed
Select positions R and D and
